Hi,

I installed a new absolute encoder (6FX2001-5QD25-1AA0) for my CU320 double motor module. When I drive the motor in commissioning mode, the encoder value r61 is not staying at setpoint (shown in attachment).

Would this be an issue with the encoder itself? I have the motor located next to my testing station so there shouldn't be any issues with noise on the cable.

I should mention that it's an induction motor. I can run the motor if I change to control type encoderless.

From your manual it says that the PollID is not required for the Drive-Cliq encoder type.

PolID is not required for the following encoder properties:

• Absolute encoder (e.g. EnDat, DRIVE-CLiQ encoder)

 I have installed this type of encoder on a different S120 and it is working fine...

Found the issue. The encoder wasn't properly coupled to the motor shaft so it was generating high torque when misaligned.

Setting 2175 = 0, I was able to see the motor physically rocking as it rotated.
