Hello Reid while there is nothing wrong with Siemens Step5, there is a far cheaper and admittedly more user friendly alternative S5 editor available fromIBH Softec called "S5 for Windows". You can find out more about it here: http://www.ibhsoftec-sps.de/english Another alternativeS5 editoris "PLC workshop for S5" from FasTrak (http://www.fast-soft.com) which does costs some 5 times as much as the one from IBH Softec though Ihope this helps Cheers Fritz |

I hate to disagree withUMENCHO (as I am a big fan of his usually very helpful and informative postings), but Version 6 of IBH Softec's"S5 for Windows" does actually allow calling the Siemens S5 COM packages (under Windows 2000 and XP only), so this shouldn't be an issue against it. Having said that, I have not tried this out for myself (COM packages certainly work underSiemens's Step 5),so best to be checked with the supplier if this is a must have funtionality. Cheers Fritz |
