Hello, I would really appreciate some help with a problem that I have.

In my installation I have the next topology:

SCADA  ------ Fiber optic ------ S7 - 1500.

Then I have two networks. A profinet network for the G120 VFDs and a Profibus network for several SIMOCODEs

S71500 PLC ----- (PROFINET) ------- MRP for several VFDs (G120)

S71500 PLC ----- (PROFIBUS) ------- Several SIMOCODEs Pro V.

I want to avoid having to communicate directly with all SIMOCODEs one by one (I would need also the special cable)  in the field and my question is if I can do the configuration and comissioning of the SIMOCODEs through the S7-1500 with a kind of routing from the SCADA room which is far away from the field.

Parameterizing SIMOCODE pro it says the following:

• SIMOCODE ES Premium also permits parameterization and diagnostics through PROFIBUS and Ethernet. Indication of all operating, service and diagnostics data supplies important information about the current state of the motor and plant at all times – everywhere on the communication bus.
• SIMOCODE ES 2007 is the previous version of the SIMOCODE ES (TIA-Portal) software for SIMOCODE pro. It only includes the basic units for PROFIBUS and PROFINET and is not being developed any further.
  SIMOCODE ES 2007 provides the SIMOCODE pro motor management system with a user-friendly and clear user interface with which to configure, operate, monitor and test SIMOCODE pro in the field or from a central location via PROFIBUS.

So your answer is yes, you have to have on SCADA PC installed SIMOCODE ES 2007 Premium
 or SIMOCODE ES Premium, or make sure they are part of your TIA but you have to install on both sides

• Profibus Optical Link module on CPU and SCADA side, OLM / G12-1300 V4.0 -> 6GK1503-2CC00 PROFIBUS OLM LINK G11 - 1300 V4.0  -------------OR
• Configure the PC as PROFINET IO controller and link the IE/PB Link or IWLAN/PB Link as PROFINET IO device. DP slaves and I slaves are accessed via the DP master. 

Full manual  , chapter 3 is the interesting one.

Looks like Profinet is much more recommended option due to OPC UA and web server availability.

 Thanks for your elaborate and very useful answer. This is what I expected, I have to integrate the SIMOCODE Premium SW in my TIA installation.

I do not expect to use a PROFIBUS fiber connection for this though. My intention is to reach the components the next way:

Development PC and SCADA -------- (Fiber) ------ SCALANCE XB205-3 -----(Profinet) --- S7-1500 -----(Profibus master card) ------ SIMOCODEs.

I had concerns because of  PROFINET to PROFIBUS conversion to reach the SIMOCODEs through routing.

Would this be fine?

Unfortunately nope, won't be able with existing configuration.

SIMOCODE Premium SW in TIA installation provides capability for Profibus DP Access but still you have to use physical Profibus DP link via direct connection with OLM or with IE/PB (IO device or gateway).

According to this link it might be possible, wouldn't it? Isnt this a way to reach DP slaves via PROFINET?

The only thing is that I do not have the Simatic PC Station or Simatic Manager. I only have TIA portal, is it now integrated in TIA portal?

Yes it is possible but you need IE/PB gateway , 

WHat is serial number of your S7-1500. DP card serial number, take a look this pic: Check is your DP card on the list. In the case it is than your CPU can act as IE/PB gateway and on that way your connection would work.

In a case your CPU is on the list or your DP module is on the list without CPU, than yes you can with corresponding SIMOCODE software

My Profibus module is: CM 1542-5 but my PLC is 1515-2 PN which is not in the list which means that it cannot act as IE/PB gateway. Perhaps in the end I wont be able to achieve this.
