Basicly you can use USS protocol. And with your type of CPU, you need to buy "inverter". (CP340). But why don't you use Profibus?

Benefits of a profibus communication compared with a ASCII sollution:
+ much better performance (up to 12M baud)
+ less engineering
+ you can connect other units (HMI's, PC's, ...) to the same bus
+ Standard in automation worldwide

Look at manual how to prepare necessaries settings. Example for configuring the inverter on PROFIBUS

But why don't you use Profibus?

Becouse this CU doesn't soupports.. So you need only one CP340 added to the CPU314-2DP and following link will helps you with basic things about communication viq USS.
