Hi,

I have tanks with water and juice with length 2 meters, I'm looking and searching for a level sensor in order to get the filling level for that tank, can anyone help determine the suitable sensor for that?

by the way, I have S7-1200 PLC and analog input signal modules 4-20 mA

What material is your tanks made of (stainess steel, PVC, glass....)?

What is the geometric form of your tanks?

What are the dimensions?

Are your tanks stationary or mounted on a vehicle?

Are there any restrictions about installation of sensors (accessebility from which sides)?

Can the sensor be placed in fluid or has level to be detected without contact?

Will the fluid be steady in the tanks or is there a stirrer?

Will the fluid be heated (possibility of bubbles) or cooled (possibility of ice crystals)?

If yes, what is temperature range?

Will always be the same fluid in tank or could there be different (specific weight)?

You state that in one tank you will have juice: Is the juice with or without fruit flesh?

I'm happy that the thread is opened.
Introduction:
The first type (A): the tanks will be filled with water, and will be boiled until temperature is 45 C, and after that the sugar will be added until temperature 75 C and then the mixture of water and sugar will be moved to Cooling machine.
And then moved to tank “B”, if the temperature for the mixture is still above 50, then it will cycled to the Cooling machine  again until it will be below 50 C.
After that it will be moved to tanks “C”, in tanks C a juice essence will be added to mixture with the mixture of water and sugar.
Then the mixture of water, sugar, and the juice essence will moved to tanks “D” for storage and packing.

At Tanks A, every tank will has 500 liter of water and a 675 K.g of sugar will be added before mixing process will be started.

After my search i see SITRANS LC300 may be good for my application, but can be adjusted to the required lengths? what do you think?

 According to GMP requirement ,it is preferable to use non contact level sensor with the product like:

Ultrasonic level sensor  or Radar level sensor.

In my factory,I have  a similar application like which you described and we use Radar E & H level sensor.

I agree with you. by the way. I browser the sensors you mentioned especially level radar and ultrasonic, I think ultrasonic is cheaper than level radar and also can be good choice for my application use.

but I have a question, if it is preferable to use non contact level sensor I totally agree", but in the same time I have to use a temperature sensor which will be in contact with the water and the juice "immersed" this is OK for temperature sensors and for level sensors it is not preferable?

I have A tank where diesel is filled. We have a guage connected to it-in parellel- which is calibrated so that the same diesel flows in the guage to indicate the oil level .

But i want to get the same data to my wincc (PLC). Any suggestion?

In photo Behind is the tank . Pipe is getting the diesel from the tank to reflect the quantity filled.
