Since I have almost same 'problem' and I cannot spend 5000 euro for SAPRO...

I have my home automation with S7 1214AC/DC/Relay (6ES7214-1BG40-0XB0) with HMI (Proface GP4301). I want to add also  Siemens POL 638 since I can use the software for my AHU.

Anyway, I would like to have

     - MODBUS communication between POL and HMI and

     - PROFINET between HMI and S7 (this is no problem for me)

What can I change in POL's data points with Scope tool in order to have communication between POL, HMI and S7?

Communication modules for Siemens Building Technologies (SBT) are a little out of my comfort zone. Although the protocols used (Modbus RTU in the case of the Climatix systems) are basically the same, it seems you require certain downloadable files to setuup the Modbus mapping for a specific project:

Siemens District Heating applications for Climatix comprise predefined monitoring and control functions for a particular plant type.

Features:

• OEM customers receive standard applications as a set of loadable files. They can be loaded in the controller via SD card.

• An HMI operator unit allows for assigning inputs and outputs to the respective plant as well as select, configure and parameterize the required functions.

The document attached below does mention the POL638, but not the SCOPE software...

Thank you for very fast answer first :)

I am working a lot with POL 638 and 687 being HVAC commissioning engineer.

I have application files for POL's made in SAPRO and I want to improve my knowledge/experience. Normally I use Scope only to change some data points during commissioning, BSP upgrade/downgrade or application upgrades. Since I never had an 638 connected to another brand HMI, I want to know how can I make them to communicate. Usually I use Siemens HMI-TM, but this time I want to use my Proface HMI.

I am sure that I don't need SAPRO to do this.

Unfortunately, not being an HVAC engimeer, I have no idea what the softwares you are speaking about do in your Modbus settings.

What I can say is that the most important part of a Modbus configuration is the Modbus mapping for the registers you want to access in your slave. Normally it is provided by the slave manufacturer. If in your case you are able to manipulate it, make sure it is logical and reliable.

Then, whatever master is involved communications should be established without problems.

I think it's unreal because you need to initialize each Modbus port what you want to use in SAPRO. And also desirable to use Modbus Slave Config Block if you want to be the slave on Modbus port.

If your PLC Climatix must be Modbus Master you need SAPRO anyway to create full program.

And only after code compile+download (need in both ways) your browser from SCOPE can read parameters and that you can change Modbus settings and create a mapping file (SCOPE) for Modbus.
