What is the role of the IOT2040 in your project? To manage the data from 20 level sensors located in oil tanks. Data receceived in % is then processed within the IOT2040 and converted to lt. and Kg. Also checks if the level of the tank reaches a pre-programed security threshold and acts stopping the filling pump. Customer can check from the office via web the status of each tank. Before this solution all the stuff was done manually. Why did you chose the IOT2040 for your project? We were looking an industrial device with Linux inside, lot of interfaces and with the capability to program using Node-Red. How did you find out about the IOT2000? By Internet .

The data printed out via the two serial port to two special label printer. The application is writen in Eclipse C++ with Snap7 driver. Attachment IMG_0382.JPG (4009 Downloads)

Bzs Posts: 5 Rating: (11)	IOT based Large 7- Segment Display Modim Kft. www.modim.hu IOT2020 The application is to display the most important 3 data (pressure, temperature, etc) in a very big size on the rooms in the production area. The IOT read the data from a Siemens S7 PLC. The 7 segments LED panels connected via IIC bus to the gateway. The company developed their own PCB for the Arduino interface and for the display. Update: exten Hardware with iobroker Server and communication with MQTT

New; Function extension: Send messages to smart phone by means of Telegram Adapter

What is the role of the IOT2000 in your Project?

Monitoring the data from 4 temperature sensors (PT100) located at Hot-Water-Tank*),

and use the evaluated data via web through WLAN to optimize the combination of heating process.

*) Note: Energy provide viatiled stove with water bag, solar cell and oil heating system.

Why did you choose the IOT2000 for your Project?

Same solution was realized by me with Arduino board and programmed with Arduino IDE last Year.

However, I want to upgrade that "Hobby" IOT solution (Edition I) to industry IOT solution (Edition II),

This application was written in Arduino IDE and Node-Red.

(Upate: Feb. 2020)
1) Since January 2020, the same Visualization is moved to the iobroker Server, Visualization with Node-Red within Adapter "vis", communicate by means of MQTT.

2) With this change, more sensors (like Level measurement of Heating Oil) are added and addtional Visualizsations are created at the iobroker Server.

3) The advantage of this solution: No Change at Simatic IOT 2000, all data are keeped at my Home Server, no Cloud is needed !

Since all the data are located at Local Server communicate with MQTT, by means of addtional Telegram Adapter at iobroker, these limit-messages (Telegarm) can be sent to Smart Phone.

Somebody asked me about the Sensor used for the Level Measurement at the underground tank of Heating Oil.
I changed the Sensor to Waterproof Ultrasonic Sensor "Modul JSN-SR04 T" since 9 Months without any Probelm.

(Update: Dez. 2023) This Solution applied with SIMATIC IOT2000 works since 2019 without any problem till now.

How did you find oLevel measurementut about the IOT2000?

It was introduced at a Siemens conference November 2016

Bzs Posts: 5 Rating: (11)	Small Energy measurement equipment for monitoring a machines power consumption to 63 Amps Siemens IOT 2040 with PAC 2200 The PAC 2200 energy measurement device is connected via serial Modbus to the IOT. The measured values is published to the web page and connected to a SQL database (V2 version). The IOT is programmed with Node-red. The Pac device is using float dataformat , we wrote a function to convert the two 16 bites word to float. Attachment IOTwithPAC2200.zip (2095 Downloads)

The situation: A large lathe, old as dirt, with a HMI on a computer running on FlexOS. Data export and a printed protocol are available via a single serial port. There is no network interface. The customer: Wants something more "21st century", which means the lathe should be connected to the company network. The solution: Enter IOT-2040! The device receives the printer protocol and the machining data (basically a key-value-list) on the first serial port. If it's a protocol, then the data are relayed to the original printer via the second serial port. If it is machining data, the desired values are extracted an offered via an OPC UA server. The software is written in Python. - Why did you chose the IOT2040 for your project? Linux environment, designed for industrial use
