JensS Posts: 739 Rating: (55)	Hallo pasc, It is a pretty old Motor, and i´m afraid that this Motor can not be controlled by an Inverter (the reason are the voltage peaks which are produced by the Inverter). But if you whant to try it I suggest to use an MM420 Order No: 6SE6420-2AD23-0BA1

I cannot be sure what speed is shown on the name plate. Can you say what type of load or machine these motors are driving. This is important because these motors are often fitted to machines which need a high starting torque. If we can understand this, then a Micromaster driving a new motor will work well. Can you confirm the power rating, and speed of the motors and the type of machine which these motors are connected to?

sukrija Posts: 43 Rating: (0)	Hello, Power of smaller motor is 5.2 KW and of the bigerr is 25KW, rotatiion speed of smaller motor is 870 rpm and of the biger 970 rpm, they are both connectedover one planetary gearbox to output shaft which is over one gear connected to wagon rollover machine which is 70000kg totaly heavy. Sequence goes like this: First is started small motor for about 3 sec(machine is started very slowly), after that is started biger motor(machine accelerates) and 2 or 3 sec before end biger motor is shut off and machine is coming instarting position(full circle) slowly. Whole ciclus is about 45sec. Machine makes 1 full circle, output shaft of gearbox makes 8 rotations for this ciclus. In my case gearbox will stay same, i just need new motors which will be controled by VFD.

Tractor Gold Member Joined: 3/27/2008 Last visit: 11/12/2024 Posts: 1147 Rating: (142)	Hi I would consider using one motor, a 30kW, 6 pole, 1000rpm, 1LA5 223-6AA, this is a 225 frame aluminium motor. Also a 1LG4223-6AA, 6 pole motor, is a 225 Frame but made in cast Iron With this motor and a Micromaster 30Kw, MM440, 6SE6440-2UD33-0EA1, I think you will also need a braking resistor, 6SE6400-4BD22-2EA0, to compensate for regeneration as the load turns over. It may be necessary to lock the input gear for the smaller motor, which will not now be required? With the Inverter Drive andthe larger motor,the acelleration profile could be provided by selecting fixed frequencies from the Inverter Drive with a mechanism of switches fixed to the turnover mechanism. Creep speed to start, accellerate to high speed, then slow to creep speed, and stopping at a sensor.a Suitable'creep' speed can be found by trial, so that when the Inverter stopps at a sensor there will be no over run.The braking resistor will compensate for the regenerated energy during the slowing to creep speed. If the motors are flange mount you will need to choose a 1MB5 flange or 1MB14, here you will need to spend some time with the catalogue to see if a motor of this type will fit the gearbox fitting. I hope this is a help for your application..

sukrija Posts: 43 Rating: (0)	Thanks for reply, but i am not sure that i can produce starting moment on the output from the shaft of biger motor, because gear ratio from output shaft to smaller motor shaft is 476 andgear ratio from output shaft tobiger motor shaft is 97. in attachment i am sending schematics of gearbox. Tractor Gold Member Joined: 3/27/2008 Last visit: 11/12/2024 Posts: 1147 Rating: (142)	Hi sukrija From the information above: the small motor 5.2kW @ 870rpm produces 57Nm torque, multiply this by the gear ratio 476 gives 27,132 Nm. the large motor 25kW @ 970rpm produces 246Nm torque, multiply this by the gear ratio 97 gives 23,862 Nm. (Torque = kW x 9550/rpm) The output torque is similar, just 3,270Nm out from being the same. So one motor and a Inverter Drive,may work, I have underlined may, because I cannot see the machine.. In the original design the small motor will accellerate to synchronous speed quickly due to the low gear ratio; so that when the large motor is started it too, will be closer to synchronous speed. As they are both slip ring motors the start up torque/speed curve can be made to accept the high torque requirement with a large slip atstart up, by adjusting the resistors in the rotor circuit. This provides a flexible drive system. I cannot open the zip file to see thedrawing, can you re send it as a pdf without being zipped up? Then I may have a better picture of what you have. I am also trying to think of a method of approaching this without unnecessary expense. I believe the larger motor will do this but we need the confidence that it will work; without having to invest in the installation of the smaller motor. I assume this is a mechanism for turning over waggons of material, how many of these do you have to modify? To control this mechanism with two Inverter Drives could be difficult, handing one VSD over to another VSD during the operation will not be easy. Also, driving both at the same time will require some load sharing. So for these reasons if we can make this work with just one VSD, the larger one will make the solution easier to control.
