Import-User-1 Posts: 3609 Rating: (29)	Hi all, i am using VB6 to communicate from my computer application to a C7 635. I manage to write and read value using "datcon" ocx "s7number" ocx etc... But i found a problem i was for now using those ocx in a little project for test. Now i start implement the function in my big project and i got error. But not com error an error using the LEFT function of VB to cut some strings... it seems that s7number declaration in VB is using his own left "function" and i cause some probleme. Infact The probleme only occure with the left function (from VB) use in Module (.bas) and not in the main code but this is not a good thing to put all my code outside modules... Is there a solution for that? do i made something wrong with installation or use??? thank you best regards Olivier

In all VB Modules where you use the LEFT Function add before the function the Visual Basic Namespace. For example: Strings.Left$("Hello World",5) best regards Simatic NET Support

In this case the Namespace is STRINGS. --> Strings.Left$("Hello World",5) Overload means, that the Control has a function which has exactly the same name like the visual basic function, but different functionality. If you want to know more about overload please refer the Visual Baisc Manual from Microsoft and search about the keyword Overload. best regard Simatic NET Support
