As mentioned above VPN is way better to connect to any device. https://www.shodan.io/ is a search engine which can be used to find any open connection and even more. So security would be a great deal. If you want to set up VPN you can choose between software, hardware or hard and software solution. On my side the customer uses a combination of hardware VPN Server with hardware VPN Client. This makes it a IT issue to set up the connection between the Server and Client part and the rest is just transparent for the users. Full access as if you where in the same network. Siemens has scalance with this features, too. |

Hello, And if the router has a variable public IP address, you must use a public name that must be registered in the Internet. Otherwise is more difficult to know to which IP address the tunnel must connect. The tunnel will connect to a name instead of an IP address. |
