sun367 Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	Dear all, This system message always appears when i am trying to go online with my S5 program. I just bought a new laptop which doesn't provide me a com/serial port but USB port. So i bought a usb to com/serial converter. Since then i kept on having this problem. But when i connect some other devices it can work. So therefore the converter WORKS... Is there a patch or help file that i can download to solve this problem??? This is my software specs: 1) Windows XP SP2 2) Step 5 v7.17. Please assist me on this matter as i have interference with my work. Thank you. Regards, Ivan[:(]

Metal Head Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	Hi Sun, I had the same problem you did at first. I found that KEYSPAN makes a usb to serial adaptor that works on all seimens products. The model # is USA-19HS and their web site is www.keyspan.com.. You have the flexablity to change the port number as with some op panels, you can only use com 1 or 2 to connect. As far as not working on everything, I have found that leaving your PG-PC interface to auto doesn't always work. I have had to go in and setPG-PC to Profi or MPI and settingthe baud rate to the com specs. to talk to certian devices. Hope that helps. Metal Rules ! MH
