Etel motor setup

Hello_world Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Dear all: Anybody have experence on setup Etel torque motor using SIMODRIVE 611U? I met problem during setup: always 610# alarm, and MD1734=-2 I used the data downloaded from Etel website. Is it problem from data or from setup procedure? I had setup several SIEMENS torque motor, but have little experence working on third-party motor. Could you give me some advice? Thanks. Liu Tong 2007.06;.08

Dave Posts: 271 Rating: (29)	Greetings: We have had some experience working with third-party torque motors. Even though we have two algorithyms for sensing poles there is no guarantee that these will work with non-Siemens motors unless the motors have been tested by the motor manufacturer. Generally ETEL motors work fairly well. I do not recall having seen alarm 610 before; however, you might need to increase the amount of current for the pole positioning to work better in your case. Also, our recommendation is to always use EnDat absolute encoder feedback and to make use of an oscilloscope for setting the offset angle rather than relying on the algorithyms for sensing pole positions. Hope this helps...

We used the dataEtel send to us, but always 610# alarm( Rotor position identification has failed ) after enable the drive. And MD1734=-2, it means " Current was not able to be reduced again in time during the measurement Remedy: Check armature inductance (P1116) and if required, increase " we also tried increase MD1019(Current, rotor position identification), but same alarm, if too high, alarm 612# The customer select incremental encoder, so we use MD1075=1 (Rotor position identification based on saturation). Dave Posts: 271 Rating: (29)	Greetings: First, you need to find the pole position (you know that already); therefore, make sure that you set MD 1017 = 1 before you start. This will find the angle for you. If you continue to have problems, perhaps the type 1 algorithym does not work for this motor. You might want to try MD 1075 = 3 which is the motion based algorithym. This should work okay in most cases. Hope this helps...

message Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	It is ok now. The alarm is comes from dirve, it was damaged because of some reason. We change it and measured commutation offset and input it to MD1016. Then it runs.
