I just came back from a project where a partner was using a hub for distributing several loacal ethernet connections. It was not possible to establish connection to the hub from my switch until I crossed the wires in the cable. The standard Ethernet FastConnect describes how the wires must be straight, but also that switches must be used. If you run into problems, then try to switch the following wire pairs like this: 1st RJ45 -- wire -- 2nd RJ45 1 -- Yellow -- 3 2 -- Orange -- 6 3 -- White -- 1 6 -- Blue -- 2
