Dear all.

I am developing a touch screen HMI on MP277 10 inch with WinCC flexible 2008.

A customer asked us to enable brightness adjustment on the MP277 device.

I found an function spript 'adjustcontrast' but it only worked on 15inch model.

Does anyone has solution for this problem?

I am a new to Siemens and PLC programming . I found this thread while trying to figure how to adjust screen brightness in the runtime. (comfort pro 1200). While the advice in this thread no doubt works, it did seems a bit complicated for such a standard requirement.

This is a method that I found that is dead simple, perhaps this is old news, I don't know.

For the next newbie like myself , here is what worked for me:

1. create an internal tag of type integer in your HMI. Let's call it 'Screen_brightness_adjust'

2. On the newly created tag, select properties and then in the Events tab, select ''Value change''. Then in the window to the right select, or type in 'Setbrightness'

3. Once you select 'Setbrigthness', you will be asked for an associated value or for a tag. Select tag. The tag that you choose will be the internal tag that you created earlier ('Screen_brightness_adjust').

4. In you HMI, drop in a slider. The tag associated with the slider will be ''Screen_brightness_adjust''

Job done, go make yourself a cup of tea.

Regarding the slider, you can adjust lower limit to never go below say, 20% as this is too dark for most users.

Also: On the internal HMI tag that you created, in tag properties, you could also set the Starting value to a brightness that you are comfortable with.
