Hello, I am using Windows 7 professional 64 bit, and while installing the software WinCC V7.3 the screen giving out error message that SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition SP (WinCC) Setup cannot complete the installation. Here i am also attaching the screenshot of that error message. Please help me out from this problem. Hello, this is a installation error. I would say that there is incompatible software installed on your system. If you want to know what that is please have a look at the compatool: https://support.industry.siemens.com/kompatool/pages/main/index.jsf?sitc=wwdfi10001 Or you could contact the Customer Support: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/sc/2090 Another option is to format c and install wincc new, then this should work. and why not check the Logfile which error exactly is logged? |

Reinstallation of the PC is only a VERY last option as there is several programs installed that must be manually reinstalled also afterwards. Where can I find the logfile ChristophD mentions and will it be in a "readable" format?

Hi ChristophD, Thank you for the answer. My installation seems to be successful on the second attempt - but since I will probably need to do it again I would like to know what too look for and where to look. I opened the 2 locations you wrote and there is a LOT of logfiles in those locations (more than I could attach screenshots for du to limits of attachments). Please see the attache screenshots and tell me which file(s) to open to see what errors there was during WinC installation.

Hello, the %TEMP% is the Path "C:\users\JensenM\AppData\Local\TEMP" Not the siemens subdirectory! Regards Christoph |
