Hey all, I'm trying to create a connection from Microsoft Power BI to the WinCC Process archives with the "WinCC OLEDB Provider". But still no luck getting it to work. I know how to make a connection in VBA with Excel but from PowerBI? Dit someone already did this? If so, what is the trick? PS: Microsoft PowerBI desktop is free to test. https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/ |

Yes, already seen it and used it to get data into Excel. Worked fine. Next stop is MS Power BI. |

Finally got it working! I had the 64 bit version of PowerBI installed. Removed and installed the 32 bit version. Help to others. Here is the "Power Query" in PowerBI to get the process values of 4 tags from WinCC Professional v15.1 Upd3:
TIP!
Now another issue in WinCC Professional, because you don't have/need the "CC_ExternalBrowing" dababase you link to the actual runtime DB. But it changes it's name each time the project is compiled. This is an issue off-course. Created another question about that: https://support.industry.siemens.com/tf/ww/en/posts/fixed-runtime-database-name/221892/?page=0&pageSize=10#post880541 |
