S7-1200 close loop CTRL + Quadrature Pulses

easy_dev Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	Hello, How to set motion CTRL with a close loop for a positionning task with a servomotor connected to servodriver? The driver does not know the absolute position. the position loop must be closed on PLC side. the driver is connected to SinCos resolver and also can provide an image of the same signal as quadrature signal output. also the driver's inputs are suitable for quadrature pulses. so, what about S7-1200 possibility, can we ensure this kind of connection using S7-1200 Pulse Direction outputs? Best regards Hi, The Open Motion Control functions of S7-1200 are based on open looping, not close... You can, however in your user logic, place a PID (with the relactive slow response time) connect to your encoder (as PV) and that gives velocity reference as LMN.

easy_dev Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	Hello, if i understood well. 1st i've to link servodriver image outputs of encoder to HSC inputs of S7-1200 for example. 2nd add a PID function bloc to adjust the setpoint 3rd inject the new adjustment to the open loop motion CTRL bloc. if this is right, what precision we could get regarding of the mechanical system. Best regards Hi, I don't have how to calcule the presicion. It is context dependent. The fact is that S7-1200 doesn't have a close loop position onboard feature. For low performance applications, however, a user logic implementation could be ok.
