The HOMING routine has several modes (read: methods).. - ACTIVE - PASSIVE - DIRECT ABSOLUTE - DIRECT RELATIVE The help-file inside the software does do a good job in its explaination. (Although it did take me a while to grasp at first.. be patient and read carefully.) If someone else wish to explain in more detail -- please do. Otherwise read the provided help pages or "STEP 7 S7-1200 Motion Control V11 SP2, Function Manual" as PDF. My favourite is the PASSIVE mode. There I can choose how the homing movement looks like. Hope this helps. w

farshid BG Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	to use PASSIVE homing MODE 2 , the raising and falling edge of related input must be enabled (DEVICE MANAGMENT> DI14,DQ > DI > CHANNLE). this input must be physically connected to a sensor in order to detect the existance of robot or whatever. i have problem with running passive home as the axis wouldn't be released. I have configured the home>general and I selected 'high level' frm drop-list. but I see the mc-power instruction shows error by content of ' raising edge address is invalid' . I appreciate if you can help me regarding to this issue. FARSHID BG

"DI14" in your description is foreign for me - do you mean digital input I1.4? Could you please make a screen capture to show what the issue is? As side note: I use MWSnap software to make pictures of program problems. In Windows 7 and 8 you have software called "Problem Steps Recorder", also called "PSR". Mentioning PLC type with version number as well as servo axis used can help. Maybe also mentioning TIA version and service pack. Some thoughts on a possible solution: I can't remember having to activate an input for rising/falling edge in hardware. As soon as the wizzard sets up the axis, an input is reserved as a homing sensor.. which already implies quick processing. No need to activate this inside the hardware configuration too. Please review your setup and come back to us with a bit more info. -- and we do love pictures as it speaks by itself. I am sure we'll be of more help then. Greetings. w
