Please share me experience about using Reno option in desigo CC to send SMS. I need send notification alarm to phone Eg: send text "High temp" to mobile phone via SMS.

Do we need any more hardware, software ?

You need GSM modem and sim card.

DESIGO CC can send SMS messages without a GSM provider. This is achieved by using the email settings to send the SMS message. The provider of the receiving device converts the email to SMS and delivers it to the recipient in SMS format. It is important to keep in mind that using this method is a one-way communication. If a GSM provider is not configured in Desigo CC, there is no way to receive SMS replies. Therefore, the Email-to-SMS communication cannot be used with situations requiring escalation; without the ability to receive replies, Desigo CC will always escalate and eventually mark the Notification and unresolved.

Compose a new email and use the recipient’s mobile phone number as the email address, with the addition of the phone carrier’s gateway at the end.

In the “To” field, enter the recipient’s phone number followed by the specific email-to-SMS gateway address of their mobile carrier.  The format is usuallyphonenumber@sms.gatewayaddress. Replace “phonenumber” with the recipient’s actual phone number and “sms.gatewayaddress” with the appropriate gateway domain for the carrier (e.g., 1234567890@txt.att.net for AT&T or 1234567890@vtext.com for Verizon).
