Where could i get detail information about the client-server of WInCC? Is there any guide or procedure for setting up of the WinCC client(winXP)/server(win2003server)? rdgs Kee

Fore my opinion you asking for restrictions of the Windows clients. That is all done on the Windows side. You can go till you get only the "start" button left over. Try a look at the microsoft site. The windows 2000 server part does contain a lot of information. What also will help is seeking in Google for somekey words. Mustit be done on a server that distrubutes it to clients? Can a server machine who has a serveral Terminal Clients do the job? Best Regards, Tommy Huijs

kee Advanced Member Joined: 5/24/2006 Last visit: 11/14/2007 Posts: 93 Rating: (4)	Hi Tommy, Actually, what i meant is the user administartion for Client to view.....at the server, i've set some access permission on certain graphics, a login button and popup window for inserting the userID/password, then a text box to tell who is logged in by C-script. When I used the client PC of Multi-user project, nologin is requiredand inserting the UserID/password in the popup windows box does not update the text box anymore. How to control/limit the user who is using the Client PC? regards Kee

If you have a Client With Project ( multi-project ) then you need to recreate the settings in the User Administrator on the client. So recreate all the users and access levels. If you wantcentralised security across all clients and servers you can use the Simatic Logon Option for WinCC. You can find more information about this option at http://www.siemens.com/wincc/options and select Simatic Logon from the navigation bar.
