WinCC V6 license

Mehrnoosh Posts: 102 Rating: (9)	Dear friends I have many problems with WinCC V6 licenses. They become faulty without any reasons and I have to call technical support to repair them. Every thing work properly but after some times (2, 3 or more weeks) WinCC goes to demo mode. I have faced this problem several times and I don't know what may cause all these problems. Does any body know what are the possible way of a license being defected? Thank you in advance. Mehrnoosh

Nemo Posts: 3149 Rating: (171)	Hi Mehrnoosh, where did you install the license keys - on a harddisk e.g. "c:"? Do you have this problem just on this PC or on different PCs as well? I am using the same licenses on the same PC for years, so I guess, that your drive could cause the problem. nemo

Paul@Timsons Posts: 12 Rating: (5)	Hello all, I was lead to believe that Defrag could corrupt licenses. Is your system set up to defrag the drive that contains your licenses? Its just another possibility. Paul

I have used many V5 for years and I never faced such a problem but with V6, a lot of license problems. I had this problem with different licenses in different machines and I didn't set up to defrag the drive myself, where can I check this? One more thing, I have a WinCC V6 in demo mode (it is on the machine, I use for test new issues) in the same network, can it be the source of problem? Thank you in advance. Best regards Mehrnoosh

I looked for the source of problem every where and these are some actions that may cause the problem: - Scandisk/defragmentation - New partitioning - Manual change of system date/hour. In my case the problem was manual change of system date/hour. Since I have not change system date/hour, I haven't had the problem. Best regards, Mehrnoosh

The same trouble i had with STEP7 - when disk C was full the STEP7 alerts methat my licens was not available. When i free space on disk C everything was OK.
