Configuring license for COMOS 10.5

However, the licensing mechanism seems to have changed. Do we need to request a new SALT license file instead of the usual XML file which is placed in the "config" folder? I couldn't find documentation or procedure for setting up the license file to work. Best regards

The new license will be restricted (you can use it only on the machine you have decided to use for this purpose) to the "CompositeID" of that machine. How to get that ID, that CompositeID? Here you see what I have found, but not tested: "To retrieve the Composite Host ID (CID)* for your COMOS 10.5 license, follow these steps:* 1. Locate the getcid.exe: - The `getcid.exe` utility generates the Composite Host ID. You can find it in the installation folder of your PLM License Server. - Alternatively, download it from the [GTAC support website](https://download.industrysoftware.automation.siemens.com/ugs_licensing/CID/). Navigate to your specific platform and locate `getcid.exe`. 2. Run getcid.exe: - Double-click `getcid.exe` to run it. - It will display the hostname and Composite ID. Note that you should focus on the Composite Host ID associated with the Ethernet (wired) network connection, not the Wireless (Wi-Fi) connection. 3. Register the CID: - After generating your Composite Host ID, register it via the [License Management page](https://www2.industrysoftware.automation.siemens.com/LicenseManagement/Application) on the GTAC website. - You'll need a WebKey Account to access this page. If you don't have one, follow the instructions for creating a WebKey account. Remember, the CID uniquely identifies your machine for licensing purposes.
