Can connect a S5-150 rack to a S7-1500?

Did you try that solution and work? 

If Yes, Do you think we can connect an S5 150 rack to a S5 1500?, at the end it is profibus DP

Turning an S5 rack of the S5-115, S5-135 or S5-155 families to operate as a Profibus slave (to any Profibus master, including S7 CPUs) requires an IM 308C in the rack, as a replacement for the S5 CPU, and a download (and integration in Step 7)  of the gsd file for the IM 308C. We used to do this quite often with a S7-300 with a Profibus-DP integrated interface, at a time when the S5 CPUs were being phased-out. (a few years ago, yes). Now, you mention a S5-150 CPU This is a much older unit than S5-155Us, and I do not believe an IM 308C would be a possible solution. Could you confirm that you are working with a S5-150, and provide us with the CPU designation (or part number), that would help us determine if there is a Profbus-DP solution available for your equipment.

I found another alternative with the Vipa 306-1UE00, As I Understood, that IM installed in central or extension racks of 135U and 155U can talk Profibus DP with S7 400 and I guess should be possible with the S7 1500.
If any had tried with this VIPA solution, I would appreciate the feedback

Use www.vipa.de Product No: 470-2AA00 to put 2 IO/Cards of S5-135U into a S7-400

OR

Use a im463-2 (on S7-400)and im314 (on S5) to include a whole S5-Rack into S7.

Both solutions I never tried!
