Force Picture window to reopen

waterguy Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	I've created a windows explore type navigation screen with toolbar buttonsand a combo box to navigate to the screens. In this project there are 50+ pump stations that are exactly the same onlyon different PLC's and other screens. I thought this would be the perfectpart of the application to dosome indirect addressing so I have on generic screenfor all the pumps. When the user selects that pump thegeneric screen opens and the onopen script runs and all is good. The problem thatoccursitif the pumpscreen is displayed in the picture window and the user selects a different pump theonopen script seems like it is not getting run. Is there a way toforce thepicture window to reopenand thus run the onopen script.I candisplay a screen temperary screen first then display my pump screen but it seems like there should be a better way. sample code of how the combo box attemts to display the pumps ' store the index that the user selected from the drop down ' which is the same index as the array of screen names userChoice = Item.ListIndex GotoScreenName = CodeScrnArr(userChoice) Set objPwMainWindow = ScreenItems("pwMainWindow") 'uncommenting this line of code will make it work becouse it forces it to a new screen ' objPwMainWindow.ScreenName = "Template" objPwMainWindow.ScreenName = GotoScreenName

Tag Prefix is the recommended way to do indirect addressing. To summarise this functionality : PictureWindow objects have a TagPrefix property. If the TagPrefix property is set to a value, that value is prefixed to ALL tags displayed in the PictureWindow. You can find more information on Tag prefixes here. I hope this is something you can develop. If not just let us know and we can think of ways to get your current configuration to work instead. Salma

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	In some projects I've put the script on a click event for the object (in your case, the pumps), instead of an on open for the picture window. With that you don't have to close the screen, and the box can be re-configured by clicking on another pump.
