how do connect s5 to s7

You can: 1 - use a Profibus interface of the S7-400 to connect to the profibus of S5 (IO data transfer - e.g. S7 as DP IO master and S5 as DP IO slave). 2 - use a Ethernet CP on S5 side, and send / receive data with S7. 3 - Use a S7 CP443-1 Advanced and a PN/DP link or a PN/DP link IO as gatway to the S5 profibus.

Victor82 Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	I have your same "problem". I was triying to use the Profibus Dp; the only thing I know is that the CP5431 must be the Master of the net. You have to use the COM 5431(Simatic NCM) to configure your CP and then you have to configure the S7400. Only I'm stuck cause I cant find the GSd files for the CP5431.
