How to open Excel file on Button Click Event .

You have to use a script to do it.

Using C:

ProgramExecute("Excel C:\path\yourfile.xls");

or

ProgramExecute("C:\programfiles\office\..\Excel.exeC:\path\yourfile.xls")

Using VBS:

Dim Program

Set Program = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")

Program.Run("ExcelC:\path\yourfile.xls")

I had a similar problem and your solution worked. Now I'm trying to open an excel file from a path which is saved in a WString Tag. My code looks like this:

Dim Program

Dim Path

Path = SmartTags("HMI_WString_Tag")  

Set Program = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")

Program.Run ("Excel.exe" &Path)  --> not opening any excel application

Please help. Thank you.
