Hello all, I am trying to reprogram an old PLC with the aid of a Step 5 program. The PLC itself is a Wabco branded Mitsubishi F1-40MR PLC. The PLC itself recently lost its program because the power went down while the backup battery was dead. From the machine builder I got some beloning files including a Step 5 (SK578@ST.S5D) file and some .INI files. At first I was very sceptical whether this was the right set of files because the PLC is a Mitsubishi one and not from Siemens. The S5D file does open in step 5 but no blocks seem to be present in the project. When I open the same .S5D file in a text editor though it shows some strange coding that I recognize as Step 5-like coding as seen in other working Step 5 .S5D projects that I do have and which I opened in a text editor. beneath the coding a complete instruction (3 pages long) for using the machine with either a Wabco or Siemens PLC is shown. so I believe that the program should be the corresponding one for the Wabco PLC. However it seems that my step 5 does not ''see'' or ''is not able to filter out'' the programming code (like ladder or STL) part of the .S5D file while I suppose it is there somewehere above the long instruction text part. I did already try to cut out the long text part from the .S5D file and reopen it again. As a result this only gave a file error while generating the needed .INI file and subsequently while trying to open a block it also gave a file error. what struck me when comparing the .S5D file (opened in a text editor) with other .S5D files was that with the non-working .S5D file the name of the file was not identical to the name mentioned a few times in the programming code while this name is always identical in the working examples that I opened. I corrected the file name and it does open as before but still with no blocks. Shown all the way down below is a copy of the non working program. My question is, does anyone know what I must do with this .S5D file (change data/ delete sections)to be able to open and see the programming code like ladder or STL in Step 5? Any help would be greatly appreciated. greetings, Hedzer Note, the program name is SK578@ST.S5D Here is the program [snip]
