A PCS7 System can have a lot of komponents (PLS, OS, devices,...). the mosttolerate a litle bitdifferent ranges. You have to specify this questions. For all prdoucts exsists the rigth power supply modul or component. In which context, you have to answer this question??? regards cumulus

CBo Gold Member Joined: 4/5/2006 Last visit: 10/10/2024 Posts: 917 Rating: (63)	Hi Pratapks, as well as forum friends poested above, there is not an answer to your question which component in your system PS, CPU, IM, Inpot/Output card (optoisolated or not) are you using Vdc or Vac power supply? Power supply is good quality or disturbed (bad line supply) When you talk about complete system doesn't forget field instrumentation, it's need power supply too and you have to connect intrumentation to your system...that means you have to make a good enginerring (and insulation for keep component safety)... ...sometimes you have to put insulation tranformer in your cabinet (good for high frequancy disturbance)...and sometimes you have to think to use a static UPS (for global safety).. the right question, in my opinion, is not what system can support qithout problem...but...what i have to do to avoid problem and where problems could come in. i know a good enginering is more expensive...as well as i learned a good engineering keep my autometed plant safe...(and me too ) in conclusion, have a look for technical specification to know where you can get trouble...then think you could need external component to help to keep your system safe Regards

Basically you could started from acceptable standarts in country which your planning to improve this project. Almost in all, power suply voltage is accepted +/-5% tollerans form nominal.... And for all equipments you need 1 phase or 3 phase power suply. After that this is transformered in auxiliary power suply from "standart" devices wih own speciffications for outputs...
