Hi, basically I know of3 cases if you can not use the USB programming cable: 1. Wrong installation of the cable (means you have connected the cable to the PC first and not installed the driver). Go to the Siemens FAQ to fix it. 2. Wrong driver for the USB cable. Install the latest one (form the Siemens Internet pages). Goto: https://www.automation.siemens.com/logo/html_00/support/01ToolsDownloads/index.html 3. The USB driver uses a high nomber of the virtual COM-Port, or having Bluetooth devices active on the PC. Go to system control panel, system, hardware, device manager, Ports (COM and LPT) and check the selected COM-port for "Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge" If you have bloetooth devices enabled then up to 10 Com-Ports are used for bluetooth. If you then install the USB cable the SW select the next free Com-Port number (after the bluetooth). This may case LOGO!Soft Comfort to check any Com-prot number to find the one for the USB cable (this may require a long time ti find it, or on some PC's it is not poosible to find the Com-Port for the USB cable). Sollution for case 3: 1. Uninstall the driver for the LOGO! USB cable. 1.a uninstall the Bluetooth devices if you don't need it 1.b install the USB driver once more 2. If you also need the bluetooth device, check if you can use a Com-Port below thebluetooth devices. 2.a. Goto: system control panel, system, hardware, device manager, Ports (COM and LPT) and select "Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge". Now open the properties, select Tap setting, and advanced. Now you can change the Com-Port number. Click on it and you will find a rolldown with all Com-Port numbers and a markwhat com-ports are used. Now change to a free numberbeginning at 4 ( 1+2 are used by the system, 3 is for onboard modems). 2.b. If this is done, open LSC,Tools, Option, Interface and let LSC search for the Com-Port. This should help. Please have in mind you can only find information for the Com-Port of the USb-cable if it is connected to the PC. I hope this helps |
