What is CIM 1.1? Where is it?

What is CIM 1.1? Where is it?

I have two manuals for the LOGO! CIM:

LOGO! CIM Operating Manual 08/2022, A5E51250518-AB and 

CIM Operating Manual 03/2023, A5E51250518-AD

“CIM V1.1 provides the following new features:…” followed by a list.

My first question was; what is CIM V1.1?  Is this firmware, software, or hardware?

After closely looking at the manual, I’m convinced it is new firmware.

Next question is where is it? I’ve searched the forum, Siemens’ website, and the internet.  I can’t find it.

I use the link in the manual with no results.

Is this something that actually exists, or just something that Siemens was thinking about?

Anyone know where to find this?

There is a new firmware update, V1.1, for the Logo CIM module; however, the last I checked it has not been released. I am reaching out to the product manager for an update on when the firmware update will be available.

But the reality is:

When the LOGO! CMR was released, I checked to see when it would be available for the North American market.  They said in about a year.  I checked back after a year and they said they weren’t sure.  I checked back after five years and they said they didn’t know. It’s still not available.

Finally, the CMI was released.  I got the first one shipped to the North American Market.  The four-port switch is nice, but it came at the cost of a lot of the features of the CMR. I set my new CMI aside for a couple of years, and then recently decided I should learn how to use it for something.  It seemed like the practical approach would have been for Siemens to just put a global cellular engine in the CMR and only produce one unit, but I’m sure Siemens considered that and found reason not to.

just to update,

CIM 1.1 hardware is available now. With this SGLAN is possible. 

Old CIM1.0 canNOT upgrade to new CIM1.1. Its a new hardware.
