itafusna Silver Expert Joined: 2/17/2020 Last visit: 8/29/2025 Posts: 1251 Rating: (237)	Hi, Since you have a Basic Panel, you have two options for backup: Backup/Restore with ProSave USB Recovery (Reset to factory) Mode for 2nd Generation Basic Panels KTP600 model is not indicated as supported by the USB Recovery Mode FAQ, but I would give it a try anyway. If the current state of the panel prevents getting the backup, then you may need to send the unit to Siemens Repair Service.

qwazee Platinum Member Joined: 3/30/2020 Last visit: 9/5/2025 Posts: 5427 Rating: (1064)	The KTP600 is a first generation basic panel. Saying that the KTP600 crashed is not helpful. There is not indication if the HMI is still functional or not. You will need to be able to boot up the HMI. The best chance is if you can reach the operating system menu. Taking a backup means you upload a compiled program. This upload can only be loaded into another KTP600. It is not possible to convert back to a version that can be opened in Wincc Flexible or Wincc TIA Portal.
