Presuming you have 6GK7 342-5DA00-0XE0, 86 Bytes is indeed its limit as a DP Slave. In that case, upgrading to a newer 5DA01 or 5DA02 will allow you to use up to 240 Bytes. See also THIS FAQ for more. If 240 Bytes is still not enough, configure the CP342-5 as a DP Master and add two more DP/DP couplers to the system (each one does 244 Bytes).
Don't worry about the configured addresses of each universal module. FC2 "DP_RECV" will transfer the entire input range (starting with IB0) to the DB you nominate (which must be long enough). Suggest you pace yourself through THIS document. |

Jolly good question and here's the deal: FAQ 21628388 clearly states that the 5DA01 supports 240 Bytes as a DP Slave and we need to take Siemens word for this. Problem is that there is no 5DA01 available in the the HW catalogue and the available 5DA0x is limited to 86 Bytes (presumably because it can also be used for a 5DA00). Moreover, the GSD file as available HERE is for the 5DA00 as well as the 5DA01 and thus also limited to 86 Bytes. Suggest you launch a support request with Siemens and ask for a GSD file for the 5DA01 that supports the claimed 240 Bytes. Alternatively, change the Max_Input_Len, Max_Output_Len and Max_Data_Len entries in the GSD yourself and see if it does the job |
