How can I connect my microcontroller with CPU 222 on RS-485

First of all I try to use RS-232 but it needs another port. Then Idecided touse RS-485,because I have one port. My Controller has 16bitdata and It must send it on one node. my projectdiagram is: Sensor --> Microcontroller (Pic16F877) USART --> Receiver -->PLC (CPU 222) <--- PC... Can microcontroller and PCsent info onsameRS-485 port? The main problemis hardware?I think ADM1486 (or MAX3460)and my USART enough for this! But I didn't find any detail about profibus protocol! Howprofibus send info!Before adress and data... Which adress range can I use F0h to FFh? I didn't find any thing. Texas Inst. have some diagrams like mine, but it is not simple, too many chip[:cry:] http://focus.ti.com/analog/docs/blockdiagramdetail.tsp?blockDiagramId=6002&familyId=361 in theirdiagram they use "PROFIBUS ASIC SPC3" chip. What is that! USART can handle its job I think, right? If not, how can I find this chip. I didn't find anyinfo about SPC3 in Siemens catalogs. Is it expensive?.
