Bricked my IOT2050?

I thought it was ready to run so I connected keyboard, mouse, home-network (internet connect, dhcp) to X1P2, monitor. Plug power in. PWR green. STAT blinking. Black screen. Waiting 10minutes. PWR/STAT green. Scanning both network interfaces using PRONETA and TIA Portal (search for devices) shows nothing. No IP, no MAC-Address. Image missing? I compiled the image from scratch, see Github and explanation here. Burned the img using Balena Etcher to an microSD. It is only 2GByte? Hm.. Plugged it into the device. Power on. Nada. It's suuposed to boot from sd if the image is corrupt or missing, right? I must have missed something. Any idea what to try next? T.i.a., Frank

Then you will need to attach a UART cable to X14 and follow the instructions in the README of meta-iot2050 to switch to SD card for booting. The eMMC is default on the advanced board and will only fall back to SD (and then USB) when there is no apparently bootable image. But before switching back, check what the boot logs tell you when the board tries to start from eMMC. Would still be interesting what went wrong. Regarding SD-card size: 2 GB is on the edge, probably beyond it. I would recommend 4GB, even more if the card should also carry the image itself for the purpose of flashing it to eMMC.

Now I am good. Debian starts from sd. I don't know how to put that image to the eMMC. Is there further information on how to do it? Thank you!

The STAT LED should be red if you try to boot it out of the box, because there is nothing to boot from. You are right, first boot option by default is eMMc, if this doesn't contain a bootable image it tries to boot from SD card. If it has booted successfully the STAT LED is blinking in a 1Hz pulse and you should see monitor output and can ping 192.168.200.1 at X1P2. Are you using an adapter for connecting a monitor? If so you need an active converter. Btw. you won't find the IOT with TIA Portal or PRONETA scan... It uses DCP(Discovery and basic Configuration Protocol) which is a Profinet function. And the IOT2050 does not have Profinet. Best regards!

Most probably image on sd was faulty. Yes I use a converter to fire up my old VGA monitor. But it is not an active one. It is one of those cheap multi monitor converters. Makes HDMI, VGA, DVI from a DP source.
