First of all the question is what you have to buy. For a redundant system the Auomtation Systems (CPU) and its firmware must be identical on both devices. In addition, there is the question whether existing software is sufficient, process objects and so on. As written documentary support, which is needed e.g. for the calculation of process objects, or performance is no longer freely available. If you have the software and the hardware, then it is no problem to do this. |

Hello Ahmed;
You should consult the following manual for S7-400H systems, it will have most f the answers you are asking for. SIMATIC Fault-tolerant systems S7-400H (V6.0) https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/us/en/view/82478488 For example, have a look at the attachment below, in answer to you question #1. Question #2: there are no additional licenses to purchase, but during commissioning the racks must be identified with the CPU dipswitches (master=0, standby=1); the hardware configuration must ne established to reflect the redundant CPU setup and special diagnostic OBs for redundancy must ne added to the program, among other things. From the S7-400H manual: Central processing units The two CPUs are the heart of the S7-400H. Use the switch on the rear of the CPU to set the rack numbers. In the following sections, we will refer to the CPU in rack 0 as CPU 0, and to the CPU in rack 1 as CPU 1. Question #3 must be answered by a PCS 7 specialist. Question #4 The use of the IM 153-4 as redundant server over Profinet is described in the following FAQ: System Redundancy with IM153-4 PN IO High Feature https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/us/en/view/60179783 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
