If you want a modbus interface at ET200S, you should usethe module below. It support modbus master or slave. It also supports other protocols. But I think you are looking for modbus master. It supports RS232, 422 and 485.

Hello guys; JMJ, I believe Pravin is requesting help on M-Bus, which I have learned to distinguish from Modbus (beware vendor's shortcuts!). Pravin is mentionning energy-meters in his system, and that is the keyword: MeterBus (shortened to M-Bus) is dedicated to energy metering applications, electric distributioon, water distribution, BTU-metering, etc... It is a pulse-based signal, travelling on 2wire, power bearing lines. Very simple and cheap to replicate, and very common in these equipments now. Unfortunately to my knowledge, Siemens does not provide a M-Bus interface, not in the A&Ddivision anyway. I'l check tomorrow if there are any offerings in the Power and Transmission sections (SICAM line), but for now all I can suggest for this application is some sort of M-Bus to RS-232 gateway. Here are a few that can be found on the net: Westermo M-Bus to RS-232 gateway: http://www.modelec.nl/product.php?id=136 Techbase offers: http://www.a2s.pl/en/m-bus-10-p-3150.html |

Dear Daniel Chartier Thanks for support, You understand my exact requirement. I have doubt that the Interface module 6ES7138-4DF01-0AB0 support this protocol or not. Because in this ET200S station there are only two interface modules One is for ModBus/USS & Another is for ASCII / 3964R. Regards Praveen Patil |

Hello Pravin; If you cannot find a M-Bus to RS232 converter that supports ASCII, then you might have to look at a M-Bus to Modbus converter. You can find many such items on the web, such as: http://www.resi.cc/papers/files/Datasheet_RESI-MBUS-MODBUS_Converter_series_E20.pdf Depending on the price, they might be an acceptable option, using the Modbus serial interface pointed out earlier. Siemens Building Technologies has a few M-Bus controllers andconverters in their Simeca line; see hereBut I have no access to pricing or manuals directly. Maybe someone from SBT could propose more options for your application. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello, about M-Bus there is also a solution for CP 341, this CP might be used within a ET200M unit too. This solution is being tested with the shown units I add to this post in the PDF file. If you are interested please contact the international technical Support. Best regards J_Bell AttachmentAH01_2008-07-22_M-BUS_to_SIMATIC_S7_M-Busgeräte_EN.pdf (1107 Downloads) |

Dear J_Bell, What is the situation nowadays? Is there a M-Bus connection to S7 available. Preferably to TIA Portal. Regards, Rauno |
