If you have both Interfaces networked with the same Network in STEP 7 I see no Problem. Than you can connect both Interfaces to the same OLM Ring. If you have different Networks, with maybe different Baud rates or the same Node Addresses, than it will not work. The best situation is, as mentioned, to have both interfaces networked, within STEP 7, with the same Network. Than I see no Problem. Please check, in such a Situation, the Network Parameters, so that you have suitable Bus parameters. Best regards J_Bell

As I informed the PLC is S7-400H and there are 2 redundant Profibus Network, so canI connect those 2 networks? I supposeI missed the redundancy.

Dear Saeed,

From the two Profibus DP networks of a H-System you can connect both Profibus DP ports seperately to a OLM (please consider that there are new OLM G12 *). Those OLMs might be used (seperately) in a ring, so you create two rings.

I have the idea that you want to put (with the information of j_bell) both Profibus DP ports on one OLM ring, that is NOT possible.

* With immediate effect, the existing PROFIBUS OLM product family has been replaced by the next product generation PROFIBUS OLM version 4. The new PROFIBUS OLM V4.0 modules (OLM P11 V4.0, OLM P12 V4.0, OLM G11 V4.0, OLM G12 V4.0 and OLM G12 V4.0 EEC) are herewith released for delivery with certain restrictions. The modules of the OLM V3 product family will continue to be available for normal ordering until September 30, 2007, after which they will be type discontinued. The PROFIBUS OLM V3 modules will then be available on spare part basis and at higher prices. The date of type discontinuation will be announced separately.
