Hi to all, I have a problem with rather frequent disconnecting from wireless networks. Wireless connection still displays status connected but I get messages from IE that internet connection is lost. Sometimes this happens each few minutes, sometimes it works for a longer time. If I try to connect to a particular wireless network with which I have problems on PG via another computer, the connection doesn't interupts or if it interrupts, then definitely not so frequently. I observed such a strange behaviour on three different wireless networks where I tried two other computers. I should also perhaps say I have Win XP Prof. SP3. I found Intel has just released a new version of PROSet/Wireless WiFi with new drivers v12.2 (see releae notes). Can anybody say if it is safe to use this new version? I wouldn't like to get into troubles. Any other idea what should I do/check? Ivo |

Hello Ivo, Hard to solve problem. If it's still thee after you have update the drivers to the newest available software I would suggest to download the following freeware (NetStumbler)and scan the area where you are for different AP's. It could be that there is interference from a different WLAN Access Point which you can detect with the above mentioned software. Unfortunately it's also possible that it's not a WLAN Source and to detected this you will need a Spectrum Analyser which is not available for free. The reason why it happens with the FIELD PG M2 happens and not with different PC could be caused by the gain from the antenna and the WLAN Card. If the antenna and the WLAN Card of the FPG M2 are more sensitive then the ones used in the different Hardware the FPG M2 would be disturbed more easy which could cause the not transferring of data but still be connected. |

Hello, the new bios V09.01.05 solved this problem. Ask the customer support for the new one. good luck |
