To clear up a misunderstanding, RCOAX is a Siemens product for IWLAN:

RCoax SIMATIC NET Industrial Wireless LAN

The RCoax cables provide a reliable wireless connection without wear and tear particularly for conveyor systems and all types of rail-guided vehicles (overhead monorails, automated guided vehicles).

Examples of the use of RCoax cables are as follows:

● Overhead monorail conveyors

● Automated guided vehicles (AGV)

● Cranes

● High bay storage systems

● Transfer lines

● Tool changer carriages

First of all, my english is so stupid, please understand me. because, i'm korean.

I have question of the "RCoax".

in my case. apllication is AGV and master PLC and two-slave PLC is not siemens.

japan brands. master is Mitsubishi and slaves is Omron.

so i.. very worry.

My system configuration is

M-PLC > W788-1 > Power splitter > No.1 W722-1 > No.1 S-PLC

> No.2 W722-1 > No.2 S-PLC

My question is below

Q1. is possible two client module on one access point.

because, on the manual said, "In conjunction with RCoax, only one antenna connector per wireless card can be used in an access point."

Q2. is required to something set on the M-PLC and S-PLC?

because, i don't find any manual about setting. like that another siemens product. (eg. simatic, sinumerik). Just connect AP and CM on web, and set IP address, and test PING. is that all?

at last, please tell me something Tip about from install to commissioning.

Hey Jeff,

regarding your questions:

Q1:YES, it is possible to have more than one client at the RCoax. the passage you are referring to means that at the Access Point you only can mount ONE RCoax antenna (Guess this is the reason why you are using the power splitter ;) ). You can have (almost) as much clients as you want. Always remember: The performance of the single clients regarding update time will decrease.
My question: Do you use iPCF for deterministic data exchange?


Q2: No. The wireless part of the connection is transparent for the Master and the PLC. you only have to check that your update time is adequate for the wireless application. (there are hints for it in the manual and in the documents/forum).

If you have further questions: ask them.

I got a 2nd question, too: you 'only' have one Access Point with the RCoax and two Clients?!
