I want to display the storage memory of my SD memorycard size in HMI, and also i want to show warning when it becomes 90 % and show alarm when it becomes 100%.

My PLC is s7-1200

HMI is TP1500 COMFORT

Sw version is TIA portal v14.1

i found the sample backup for tia 15 but i can't open here, so please suggest me how to acheive this

And also please give priority to acheive this without script like (GetSMCinfo) if it not possible then advise me with script.

I don't think it is possible to do that, even with a script. You can check if SD card is available or fullwith a script. Someone please correct if i'm wrong.

You would need to make an external program to WinCE, then it is possible. I would not recommend to learn to do that.

Only thing that comes in mind is to use Audit trail. It needs a licence to use, so that is not good option. But when i tested, i noticed that when you don't actually log anything and just use it to check SD status, it won't complain about the licences. Licence complaint should come right after you power on panel.

Test if you want.

Windows CE is the operating system running on the panels (e.g. TP700 Comfort).

"Windows-based device" means a PC with a regular Window operating system like Windows 10.

I opened that example and checked , but it looks Manual checking of the memory card and i want to check this as automatically from program.(Like during plant start first it will check the memory if it have free memory then only the plant will start) .

is it possible by doing ==> use a Tag -> Events-> Value change for triggering ?

it would be possible:

- when start screen is loaded call a script that calls your function and sets an internal tag which indicates that the script was run (then you can prevent the call of your function every time you enter the start screen). 

- use a scheduled task to run your function e.g. every hour

But the back up and link what i was attached here is to detect the Pen drive or Memory card in HMI. Actualy i misunderstood the concept.

So please suggest me , whether we can acheive this or not ? (As mentioned in first post)

As per the K_ohjus suggestion  if there is no other way i will go to Audit trial option, but before that i want to confirm to find the the memory of HMI (please check the first post).

i found this instruction finally and if you have any sample program for this please share me.

You can use script for reading file size and check if it is 80% of something. But then you need to hard code storage media size to your program or set it on HMI manually, that is probably the only solution on Comfort Panel, besides auditrail. With RT adv or pro it would be easy. Actually, like i mentioned before there is way of doing this with WinCE, but it would need external WinAPI program.

So you cannot change the size of a storage media without changing size manually from somewhere. That could cause problems in a long run. But if you are sure no storage media size is never going to change, it could be an option.

    So if we check the fixed file size value(only one value eg-80 %) then it is easy,  if i want to check two value means then it requires external Win API program  (am right sir)?

Actually we are using SD card of the HMI, so am sure the storage media size will not change.

As per your previous attachment i can mention the low limit value (1 mb (or) 10mb ) in audit trial log,  to pop up the Low free space message?

And this audit trial will calculates the storage level of Full SD card and not that particular log ?

If you would make your own WinAPI program, it would be able to read actual SD card size and size of the files, program could be automatic and run on the back. This is something i would not recommend, because it is not that simple to make and there is some problems with these programs.

If fixed SD card size is OK to you, i would do what Frink suggested and executed script with scheduled task for example. In script you would read file sizes of SD and compare against fixed and calculate what ever you want.

Auditrail calculates the space available in SD. There will be system message when limit is reached, but i have used to show whole screen with acknowledgement button.
