with PCS 7 V8.1 and the PLC 410-5H (FW V8.1) there is a new function called TCiR (Type Change in Run).

In older PCS 7 versions it is not possible.

If you change a normal DB (not an instance DB of a FB) and download the program the CPU will stop.

You can prevent this by copying the DB block from the Block Folder to the Online Block Folder of the CPU.

When finished you can donwload the CFC with changes only.

As Ralfinio said, the only option to change a FB in runtime is to use the CPU410.
