Using 6ES7340–1CH02–0AE0 is possible. Download CD "CP340, CP341, CP440, CP441" There is example too. What is the target? Best regards, Hristo Mihalev |

Hello m. shoaib khatana; Please make usre you remain clear on what you are asking: Modbius ASCII (as in your title) and ASCII protocol are 2 very different things. The answer Umencho provided is for the possibility of setting up RS-232communicatoins over the ASCII protocol using a CP 340. That is possible. If what you want to know is: can you setup a CP 340 as a Modbus ASCII device (master or slave), the answer is no, in Siemens' world. You would need a Modbus ASCII driver (master or slave) that can only be downloaded to a CP 341. Seelct the appropriate model of CP 341 in order to have an RS-232 interface: CP341 Loadable Modbus ASCII (16 bit & 32 bit) Master Driver
Hope this helps, Daneil Chartier |

Dear m.shoaib khatana , your CP340 does support ASCII but does not support Modbus ASCII by native. Using a CP341 with loadable driver, as already mentioned,is a solution. Othersolutionsare software blocks for your CP340orprotocol converters. Both you should be able to find through your internet search engine. Good luck habibi. |

Dear m.shoaib khatana , I gota bit confused. Initially you were asking for support on "Modbus ACSII" and now for "Shinko ASCII". Which one is the one you need to use finally? In case of Modbus ASCII there are various standardsolutions available. Does your CPU has a DP port? Ifyou need to communicate through Shinko ASCII with Simatic S7-I propose you to use Shinko IFP-100 Shinko to Profibus protocol converter to make your life easy. Good Luck! |

Dear m.shoaib khatana , You arementioning rewriting. Was it ever working before? Why do you need to rewrite it? In general it is possible to write asoftware driverfor this Shinko protocol and using CP340. But I believe that the cost for that would be much higher than buying the converterI wrote about before. |
