diar Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	DEAR SIR.... i WISH TO HELP ME IN MY PROBLEM...... my plc is used to dealing with 4 variables as follwed... 1-level ,2-flow ,3-pressure ,4-temprature the first three variables intervention on SIM321&SIM331 and SIMATIC ET200M(IM153-2)... the cpu used is CPU417-4H101-0AB0,the communication between plc and computer through CP443-1G11-0XE0,the reading of the first three variables operating in good condition inthe program WINCC 5.0.THE PROBLEM IN THE FOURTH VARIABLES(TEMPRATURE) that the reading of this variables coming to plc through CP341(RS422/485) the data of temp.comes through UTP cable have a distance of 150-200 meters the reading of temp. in wincc not found(other than visable) and the leds of CP341 that blinking is only TX............................ what i can do to fix this problem

Since your Rx LED is not blinking on the CP341, it appears that the CP341 is not recieving replies from its communication partner.Since the Tx LED is active, it seems the CP341 sees an electrical connection to the partner; that does not imply that is is acorrect connection, only that the cable between the 2 is physically present. First: has this comm link worked before, and stopped working recently, or is this a new installation? If this worked before, what has changed recently? If this is a new installation, it could be due to a number of things: cabling, protocol selection and parametrization in the CP341, end-of-text character or data-length transmission limits, etc... Please provide the following info: model and part number of the temperature transmitter you are trying to connect to; protocol selected for communications; data format specifications required by the manufacturer of the temperature transmitter. And any other information you think could help diagnose your problem. Hope this helps, Daniel chartier

diar Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	HAI AGAIN.......... my temp.transmitter has the following specification: 3 cabinets each cabinets contains yokogawa 5 DS600(sub unit) and 1 DA100(data acquisition unit),the 3 cabinets connetcted in series but we are connected one cabinet now,because its the first time for operating the system(plc first time operated)......... i wish to note that the CP341 TX LED is flashing in 0.5(2HZ) second even when the data cable(utp) that transfer data of temp is not connected to CP341. so if you need any information i will post it to help me in my problem,,,,,,,,,,,

Do you receive any data... or do you get any Status information about the connection from the Functions you use? Best regards J_Bell

diar Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	hello mr j bell........ im checking the FB&FC in simatic manager (FB7&FB8) related to sending and recieving datawith respect to CP341 what i must check on it,or which FB&FC releted to CP341 and how i can check it.but i want to not that when i checking the network communication through simatic manager...config network....then select im153-2 that located on rack contains CP341......then select the CP341......then make connection online......the status of cp341 is ok. THE QUESTION IS TX LED FLASHING IN CASE OF CONNECT CP341 CONNECTED TO COMMUNICATION PARNER OR NOT.CAN I REMOVE TX FLASHING.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, have you read the chapter 6 in this Manual? CP 341 Point-to-Point Communication Installation and Parameter Assignment If not you will find in the FB 7 and FB 8 the parameters Error and Status. If the Error boolean is set you have Status that says the reason for the fault. If you get a “done” or a “ndr” true your communication works. This is the way to figure out what is going wrong. Just one thing the Status has to be saved because the Status is overwritten each time the FB is called. Best regards J_Bell

diar Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	HAI MR BELL AGAIN.......... im checked the simatic library and found the fourth blocks: 1-FB7 2-FB8 3-FC5 4-FC6. im takingimage for screen to FB7&FB8 and they are: the question is that,if the blocks is not programing how can i program it and WHAT IS THE BLOCKS THAT MUST be programed(FB,FC,DB,SFC,OB)................... i can seend any information you need to help me......... dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 11/6/2024 Posts: 12293 Rating: (2690)	Hello diar, J_Bell; At this time, maybe it would be good to clear up one issue: what protocol will be used between the CP341 and the Yokogawa unit? I am not a Yokogawa man, but the info I foundon the web regarding the DS600 specifies only a proprietary protocol for connection to the controller. The CP341is designed toestablish connections over serial protocols like 3964R, RK512 or ASCII (as a standard); loadable drivers for Modbus (master or slave) and Allen-Bradley DF1 for example are also available to allow exchanges with other brands of PLCs. I can tell you from experience that even with a well-known protocol, successfullyprogramming the CP341 exchanges is not uneventful. Unless the specifications of the DS600 are known, and conform to one of the CP341-supported protocols, then data exchanges are going to be very difficult to configure in your project, however well the communication blocks are programmed. There are other ways to gather field data in the S7 program, and so make them available to WinCC. Are you locked into using serial data transfer for this application, or is it possible to examine other alternatives, in case the CP341 solution does not work? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier
