Hello every one, I've been perusing for a while about SIEMENS products related to remote control. I was exposed to a lot of stuff in the SIEMENS tutorials and products data sheets, there are a lot of products and now i am little bit lost. I am using S7-1200 PLC in my applications, i work in the PhotoVoltaic industry ( solar energy) and now i have needs to connect remotely to my sites, not for only working with TIA, i need to connect serveral sites together to use OUC (OPEN USER COMMUNICATION). I am not searching for a solution like ACCESS POINTS/RF LINKS and etc, My projects located far away from each other and i want them to behave like they are in the same network. I know that i am needed to add COMM HARDWARE to the plc's, and its ok for me...i just want to know exactly whats the most efficient way to do that before ordering parts. I know that OpenVPN is an option - does vpn will allow me connect two plc's to each other ? for example using TCON and TSEND between PLC's ? or maybe OPC UA ? I attached a document that demonstrates the situation with 2 remote stations and one PC, that all should be connected together. thanks in advance ! AttachmentDrawing2-Layout1.pdf (46 Downloads) |

hi PV_Solar, OpenUser Communication can work over VPN. But It depends on the settings of the VPN. Have a look to the application samples and FAQs here in the SIOS: Especially for the S7-1200 there are many application samples for different tasks, like: Data communication between S7-1200 stations, WinCC and TeleControl Server Basic V3.1 via CP 1242-7 V2 and CP 1243-1It is also possible to use a CP or a decentral device. Here you find an overview: Overview: Secure Remote Access with VPNhope this helps, regards, |
