I need to start with a new project

I will use  the CPU 1513-1 PN for my project and I need to connect this CPU with several devices as follows:

- 10 CPX system from Festo with PROFINET interface

- 20 io link master al1102 from IFM with PROFINET interface

- 10 g120c PN vFd from Siemens 

- 5 hmi tp1200 comfort

the question is does this is possible?

because in the CPU datasheet, there are two different pieces of information

1- the max number of io devices is 128

2- the max number of io systems is 32

now I need to know how to know if these devices I use are IO DEVICES  or IO SYSTEMS

In the technical data you will find the following:

Number of distributed IO systems

32; A distributed I/O system is characterized not only by the integration of distributed I/O via PROFINET or PROFIBUS communication modules, but also by the connection of I/O via AS-i master modules or links (e.g. IE/PB-Link)

This means you can use up to 32 fieldbus systems with PROFINET, PROFIBUS, AS-i.

This is unlikely to be achieved with your planned system as you are likely to use only one IO system for PROFINET by using the internal interface as the PROFINET IO controller. You can connect up to 128 PROFINET IO devices and you have listed 40 because the TP1200 Comfort is not normally used as an IO device.

Completely agree with the prior reply.

Just think of it like this:

PN/IE_1 : IO System #1
...
PN/IE_32 : IO System #32

Each IO system can be grouped as you like, with the total # of IO devices across all IO Systems being 128.  However, in reality, you have to be aware of everything that counts as an IO device, as well as communications paths / resources.  For example, HMI's typically consume many comms resources, but often no IO system/device.

There are several limitations to consider when things start to grow in complexity.
