Lood09 Regular Member Joined: 2/3/2022 Last visit: 7/11/2022 Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hi All I am very new to PCS7 and I have been working through the PCS7 course provided by siemens: https://new.siemens.com/global/en/company/sustainability/education/sce/learning-training-documents/pcs-7-modules-9-0.html I just started a WinCC application, when I started it i saw that all my vavles (valve large from the APL) have alarms. The message says feedback error. I am not sure how to get the information on what is wrong or how to solve this error. I assume that it is an error with the setup of each valve since they all have the same error, and none of the other components have the error. Could any help on this? Techno_Taru Bronze-Expert Joined: 1/11/2019 Last visit: 11/7/2024 Posts: 791 Rating: (154)	Hello Lood09, The error is generating because of non-availability of Open/Close feedback! Whenever you open or close a valve it looks for an feedback to make sure that it is opened in field, for that we use open/close feedback with defined time. If "Monitor" I/O = 1, then block looks for Open/Close feedback. The block looks for Open feedback when we give a open command (FbkOpen =1) and vice verse for close (FbkClose =0). If "Monitor" I/O = 0, then block doesn't looks for Open/Close feedback. And we don't get any control error message in RT, See the picture 1 in attachment. You can connect the Opened/Closed outs to feedback IOs as input to give a command for testing purpose. (Its avoids the control error messages), See the picture 2 in attachment. The feedback signals of the valve or valves are read from the I/O through the PCS7DiIn blocks. Hope it helps you! Attachment Valve_Fbk.png (211 Downloads)

During the course I mentioned we used predefined symbols for the feedback. I will show an example of a valve CFC. To my knowledge these signals are supposed to represent signals coming from the PII. So in practice the valve would output a digital signal to the I/O which then goes to the PII and finally to the Pcs7DiIn driver. Now since this is supposed t be a simulation, I do not know where that signal is supposed to come from? WinCC does not see any of the signals? Could this be related to a SIMIT program that needs to be run at the same time? Sorry for all the questions, I have been struggling with Pcs7 for about a month on my own now. Techno_Taru Bronze-Expert Joined: 1/11/2019 Last visit: 11/7/2024 Posts: 791 Rating: (154)	Hello, Whenever you trigger a block input to turn ON/OFF a valve, The signal goes from Opened OUT parameter to Pcs7DiOu. When actual Valve gets turned ON in field, the valve will send back the Opened Feedback through digital input card via Pcs7DiIn block. PLCSIM: You will not get the feedback signal automatically if you use PLCSIM to simulates the logic. You have to provide the feedback signals by your own within the time limit by using PLCSIM. Hardware I/Os: In your case, I64.5 is the opened feedback Input from the filed, So you have to give a signal (+24V) to I64.5 If you failed to give within desired time (Monitor time in block), block triggers the control error message.
