Deleted User Posts: 767 Rating: (69)	Hello Suryawati, The term Newton Meter (Nm) for servo motor is a documentation of the amount of torque that the motor can provide. In reference to the application the torque values are a thoeretical value of amount of torque that the motor can generate to move a load from point a to point b in a certain amount of time. Resistances to movement could be any combination friction, force, system inertia, etc. For servo motors there are three main torque values defined for capability: 1. Static torque - Continuous torque capacity at zero speed 2. Rated torque - Continuous torque capactiy at motor's rated speed (for example: 3,000 revolutions per minute(rpm)) 3. Maximum torque - Maximum permissible torque (intermittent) In order to determine the motor current required at a given motor torque, the following formula is used for synchronous servo motors: Current_motor = Torque_motor / Torque Constant_motorAlternatively, with symbols: I_Mot = T_Mot / k_Tn In a milling application, there commonly are the following main items in motion system: servo drive - provides current to motor for command motor - generates torque for command gearbox -transforms motor torque andrpm tobetter fit application needs for command ball screw - converts rotary motion of motor to linear motionfor movement of the tooling to object that is being milled.
