Siemens 840D software reload

We had a harddrive failure on the MMC103 . I restored a ghost image of the drive from 2017. When the MMC103 loads it displays the following message after a while . I have reset the PLC using S3 and S4 . I do not have an external storage device . There is a PCMCIA card in the NCU . I have the HDD in the MMC103 . What steps do i take to restore from either of these two options the software to the PLC . These are the screens i get after the MMC fully starts up . i choose " Startup " and get this error . After you clear NC/PLC, 7 segment on NCU should display 6 & no RED LED should be ON. Please read & follow it carefully & observe the results.Then try to reload NC/PLC. I have 2 green LEDS on the NCU . It does seem as if there is a communication problem between the MMC103 and the NCU from all the error messages during startup From that point i am unable to restore any archives .

GBZA10 Member Joined: 8/16/2021 Last visit: 7/29/2024 Posts: 6 Rating: (1)	Hello Piscean Solution was the HDD . We fitted a 350Mb drive and restored the Ghost image . . ON boot up we had many errors. We realised that the software was trying to access the d: partition on start up but could not . We used the utilities menu via "6" key to access Dosshell mode . Option 3 . We tried to go to D: but we unable to. We then ran Fdisk and deleted the extended dos partition . We then re-created the extended dos partition . Rebooted and via "6" menu and dos formatted partition D: Rebooted machine and proceeded to restore NC and PLC archives. Thank you very much Piscean, you put us on the right path with the HDD question Regards
