Dear Sir/Madam Could you please help me with calculating current and power consumption of S7-300 DI, DO, AI, AO cards? Which part of the information given in the I/O cards catalog should be considered for calculation of power consumption? Part number of the cards are as follows: Digital Input Module (32 Ch, 24VDC) 6ES7321-1BL00-0AA0 Analog Input Module (8 Ch, 4-20ma) 6ES7331-7KF02-0AB0 Digital Output Module (32 Ch, 24VDC) 6ES7322-1BL00-0AA0 Analog Output Module (4 Ch, 4-20ma) 6ES7332-5HD01-0AB0 Best regards, AttachmentSiemens-6ES7322-1BL00-0AA0-datasheet.pdf (1265 Downloads) |

Hello! Follow these steps (and read the manual): 1. For digital input module SM 321; DI 32 x DC 24 V; (6ES7321-1BL00-0AA0), input current for signal "1" typycally 7 mA. Just multiply 7 mA to 32 channels and you will get current consuption: 7*32=224 mA. Then, add current consuption from backplane bus (according with manual= 15 mA). So 239 mA is overall current consumption. If you wish to get a power, just multiply 0.239 with 24 vdc and you will get 5.736 W. According with manual, power loss of the module usually is 6.5 W, so this calculation looks correct and for further calculations 6.5 W according with manual can be considered as normal. 2. Lets move to digital outputSM 322; DO 32 x DC 24 V/ 0.5 A; (6ES7322-1BL00-0AA0). In manual specified current consuption from load voltagemax. 160 mA + 110 mA from backplane bus. SO , the overall result will be 270 mA, and power will be 6.48 W. In manual, power loss of the module is 6.6 W specified, so calculation looks correct. 3.Analog input module SM 331; AI 8 x 13 Bit; (6ES7331-1KF02-0AB0) only consumes power from backplane bus max. 90 mA. Power loss according with manual 0.4 W 4.Analog output module SM 332; AO 4 x 12 Bit; (6ES7332-5HD01-0AB0) 60 mA from backplane bus and 240 mA from load voltage. So, 300 mA and typical 3 W power loss. PS, calculations will be more accurate if you will remeber, that load voltage is 24 VDC, but backplane bus has onle 5 VDC. Hope it helps.
