Hello. Is it possible to connect a PTC to the 6ES7231-5QA30-0XB0 module? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hi, the signal board 6ES7231-5QA30-0XB0 is desinged for thermo couples only. Means there is no internal construction to measure an PTC and provide a correct value accordingly. So the short answer: No, it will not work. 6ES7231-5QA30-0XB0

Hi, also no dedicated PTC input range. In theory you can configure the input of this card as an regular "RTD" input and connect the PTC to this input. But the main problem is that the card has no internal "math" to calculate the correct temperature values to the resistance on the input. Means you have to do this by your own which can be difficults the resistance/temperature curve is not linear. So If your PTC as a resistance range of (for example) 1,2 to 150 ohms, you can configure the input as RTD 0-150 ohms. Afterwards you have to calculate the temperature via user program by yourself. If a card has a dedicated input for the specific resistor/thermo couple/thermometer, the math would be done internally by the card. For the module you mentioned, this would work for PT100/1000 e.g. So you would receive the temperature in the input channel directly (must only be devided by 10). But this is not the case for PTC as its not officially supported. 6ES7231-5PA30-0XB0
